Chaired by the President, Karim Langer the role
of this committee of the Victorian Squash Rackets Referees Association
Inc. is to provide a service of accredited Referees to Tournaments and
other Squash events throughout Victoria.
It has a responsibility to advise the Board of
Squash Australia on matters concerning refereeing, including improving
the standard of refereeing, recruiting and training of referees, and the
development of the Rules of Squash.
This is achieved through the planning and implementation
of refereeing programs, and the ongoing personal development and training
of Referees.
The following accredited Referees comprise
the Victorian Committee of Management and were elected at the Annual General
Meeting held on
17/11/2009. They will serve on this Committee until again being eligible for re-election at
the next Annual General Meeting which will be held at the Moorabbin

Karim was born on January 26, 1963 and currently lives at Upper Ferntree Gully in Victoria. He was introduced into competition squash at the age of 18 and started his playing career at the Elwood squash club. He is now playing in the Masters at the Moorabbin squash club, having reached State 5 Grade in the late 80's. Karim has enjoyed all level of sports from watching, playing, and umpiring participation. He has umpired from club to professional level, in many sports including baseball, cricket, tennis, and squash. Now that he has played over 20 years of squash, he believes that having peaked in a playing capacity in this wonderful sport, he has decided to give something back to squash by becoming a Referee and a Committee member. resides in Melbourne and is a Squash fanatic. He is the current owner of the Knox Bayswater Squash & Racquetball Centre and has run Squash Centres since 1983; Burwood (1983-1986), Wattle Park (1986-1998) and Waverley(1998-1999). One day he'll get a real job. Geoff has been an accredited Referee since the mid 1980's and a National Referee since 1995. Geoff is the Past President of the VSRRA, having served on the Committee since 1986 as Vice President for three years and President for 2 years until ousted by Bill in 1991. He was given a Life Membership in 2000. It's not a bad hobby. Geoff still plays the game. Although not at a lofty level anymore he can still manage a win or two against the odd crippled Masters player. His greatest playing achievement was once playing State Grade; just once!!

Having started playing squash in 1986 at an age when most people have given up, Warwick has never played at a very high grade, but is still trying to improve. He has always been a keen student of the game and interested in promoting its play correctly according to the rules. He qualified as a level 2 referee in 1988 but has always had many interests competing with opportunities to referee major squash games. Warwick is president and match & pennant chairman at Yarra Valley Country Club Squash Club, and is a member of the Club Circuit committee, representing that organisation on the VSF Technical Council. In addition to squash, Warwick is chief rock climbing instructor with the Victorian branch of the Scout Association, is a keen golfer and somehow manages to fit in a little time for work and a family comprising an understanding wife, six adult children and five grandchildren.
